Frequently Asked Questions
When should the joinery be replaced?
The joinery (windows) should be replaced in your house or apartment before you realize that you are "throwing money out the window." Electricity bills and heating costs (gas, coal, wood, etc.) keep rising. Don't wait until these costs financially weaken you so much that you can't afford to replace the windows. It's better to take the risk now and invest money in replacing the windows. Your money will indirectly return quickly through savings on heating costs. Apartments with central heating will soon receive calorimeters to measure heating consumption, so they won't be spared from constant energy price increases. Any signs of malfunction, sticking mechanisms, or drafts around the windows are clear indications that the window is worn out. Every delay in replacement means money is "leaking" through old windows.
PVC or ALU joinery?
According to all research, there is no difference in technical and sound insulation between PVC and ALU joinery. Of course, tests were performed on windows made from quality profiles and fittings. With poorer quality profiles, all parameters decline, including sealing, sound insulation, and window durability. The main difference between PVC and ALU joinery is lifespan: quality PVC joinery lasts 35-40 years, while ALU lasts 70-80 years.
Which PVC profiles do we recommend?
Quality PVC window profiles must be produced in factories with tradition and technology for PVC profile production. The most experience in this field is held by German factories which constantly improve profile composition and technical solutions. Our recommendations are INOUTIC, VEKA, REHAU.
Which glass and fittings should I install?
The most important thing when choosing insulated glass is that it is made according to all technical regulations on quality machines. You should also receive a written warranty for it. With a "cheap" (read: low-quality) window, you won't get quality glass or all the necessary materials that go into the insulated glass package. It's not uncommon for some elements to be skipped during production. With window fittings, which are crucial for proper window function, you shouldn't experiment. Always choose proven (though slightly more expensive) manufacturers to ensure peace of mind. Our sincere recommendation is Sigenia, which has been installed for almost 100 years and is constantly improving daily.
Which entrance doors should I install?
Entrance doors are chosen based on the needs of the building. For commercial spaces or shops, our recommendation is aluminum doors because of their resistance to physical damage. For residential buildings, you can safely install PVC doors since they provide excellent thermal insulation. By choosing a decorative reinforced triple-layer panel, you can satisfy both aesthetic and thermal requirements.
What materials are the windows made of?
When selecting materials for our products, we pay special attention to the quality and reliability of our suppliers. All materials are produced in the European Union according to their standards, which, as you know, are very high. As the final link in the production chain, our company fully complies with supplier recommendations regarding production and installation processes to ensure the best functioning of windows and doors.
What is the warranty on the products?
The written warranty on our windows is 1 year for any functionality issues + 10 years for the physical condition of the profiles from which the windows are made.
What is the difference between ALUMINUM and PVC windows and doors?
There is no difference in any thermal or sound insulation characteristics. In all parameters, ALU and PVC windows and doors are almost the same. The only difference is in price (ALU is 40-45% more expensive) and lifespan: PVC lasts about 40 years, ALU about 80 years if properly maintained.
How much do mosquito nets affect the price if I want to install them with new joinery?
Mosquito nets or insect protection screens come in two versions: fixed or with mechanisms (roller or pleated). Fixed cost €22 per m², roller €35 per m², and pleated about €48 per m².
What energy and financial savings can I achieve with new joinery?
By installing new ALU or PVC windows, you start saving money. You might have an initial cost when buying windows, but after a few years you break even financially. Heat savings by replacing windows range from 30-55%, which you can quickly calculate based on your annual heating expenses. After paying off the windows (through savings), you start earning (saving) money.
How to maintain joinery?
Thanks to the latest technologies, maintaining PVC and ALU joinery is minimal. For cleaning, simply wipe the PVC and ALU joinery with a damp cloth to remove dust. It is even recommended to avoid strong cleaning chemicals. The only mandatory maintenance is lubricating the mechanisms every 6-12 months depending on window usage frequency.
Is there a warranty?
Perhaps the most important information is that even after the warranty expires, we provide service and spare parts for our windows and doors.
How long does the manufacturing and installation of windows take?
From the first contact with our clients, within 48 hours our experts visit the site to take precise measurements and provide additional explanations. The most common production time is 3-8 days from the date of order. Installation itself takes 1 day, while finishing the window frames as an additional option is left for the next day.
How much energy can be saved by replacing windows?
The most energy is lost through bad windows (over 40%). By replacing windows, you achieve the greatest energy savings (much more than with thermal insulation facades, etc.). The investment in replacing windows pays off very quickly, within a few years. For new buildings, the project should include the highest quality joinery to ensure better energy efficiency.
What is the procedure for getting information about prices, technical specifications, and ordering windows?
The most common problem when buying windows in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the lack of warranty, service, and spare parts for ALU and PVC joinery. Very often, when a problem occurs with the operation of PVC or ALU windows, you cannot exercise your warranty rights for numerous reasons. The company that installed your windows may have changed its address, phone numbers, gone out of business (no longer exists), or even if you reach them by phone, they may explain that the problem is not theirs or even refuse to come and fix the fault. The only recipe for worry-free window purchase is choosing a company with tradition and recommendations from satisfied customers. Our company conscientiously approaches work and clients. Windows bought from us 5 years ago still have service and spare parts available today. From day one, we install the highest quality mechanisms in accordance with European standards so that any minor problem is resolved within a few days.
